Key as a Service

How do you open your car door? 30 or 40 years ago the reply would have been “With a key, of course!” Nowadays, however, this is by no means a matter of course – because we have smart alternatives to real and wireless keys in the form of smartphones and Bluetooth cards. “Key as a Service” is the name of this tried and tested, cloud-based solution by Continental for keyless vehicle access and engine start authorization. Now the time is ripe to roll out the platform from the passenger car segment to commercial vehicles. The KaaS platform has two distinct Hardware portfolios, one that addresses only Access to the vehicle, and another which provides Access and vehicle Telematics. Both these Hardware portfolios are controlled by the Keycore2 Continental Cloud backend.
